They stayed cuddled together for several minutes, at ease, waiting for their heartbeats to settle. A niggling of embarrassment tinged her enjoyment, as she relived her aggressive behavior. She still couldn’t explain the hunger that had consumed her.
“Are you okay?” Rob asked.
Coreen gazed up at him, realizing that he hadn’t expected their interlude to have been so intense. She smiled, glad that her actions hadn’t shocked him. She wasn’t accustomed to such behavior from herself with a man she hardly knew. They might have worked closely together on several assignments for the last ten months as she trained, but that didn’t mean they knew each other personally.
“I’m fine.” Thank goodness they’d agreed on rules to this part of their relationship before they’d done anything. Yeah, rules kept operatives safe, especially when neither of them could afford to lose their hearts, much less their status.
Her phone vibrated, so she straightened back up on the passenger’s seat and answered. “Yes?”
“Coreen, this is Ken Halpern with the National Intelligence Agency.”
She smiled. She’d met Ken on her first day of training at the Nevada Compound. He was in his early fifties, and very much the father figure type. She’d taken to his easygoing nature, right off. “I remember you, Ken. What can I do for you?”
“I have an agent in need of assistance. Can you meet me at the Walton Arena?”
She glanced at Rob noticing his watchful expression. He’d dressed himself, while she needed to at least re-zip her slacks. “I’ll be there in half an hour.”
“You’ll be going inside before the game.”
“I don’t have a….ticket,” she said, before realizing he’d hung up. At least it was a hockey game and not basketball. She put her phone away and shrugged. “An assignment.” Tucking her shirt back in and zipping up her pants, she looked at Rob, expecting him to get her home so she could change.
“Who called?”

About the Author:
I have lived my entire life in the southwest. I am the youngest in a family of three, growing up with two older brothers has given me a special tender toughness.
I have loved writing romances since buying my first romance novel over eighteen years ago. I have a special love for the paranormal, futuristic, and erotic romances, which I try to combine in my writing whenever possible.
I hold two associates degrees, one in psychology. I am also schooled in criminal justice. I spend almost five years working as a volunteer detention officer in a city jail. This has led me to my current occupation in security.
I am a current member of Romance Writers of America (RWA), which I recommend for any upcoming romance writer.
I have a 15 year old cockatiel named Kato, who’s been with me since he was featherless and could fit in the palm of my hand.
I enjoy rock music, especially Nickelback, whom I have drooled over in concerts many times.
I like gardening, when the weather isn’t too hot. I mostly plant tomatoes and bell peppers, which are the easiest to grow. I once tried to grow an orchid plant but it died for some reason…not related to my gardening skills, I’m sure.
